Toronto, Day 1

After a short drive from Niagara Falls, we were in Toronto. Trying to decide what to do in Toronto was hard because there is so much, but we decided on the CN Tower and the Royal Ontario Museum.

After finding our hotel and parking in the 2 x 2 parking space (that's a joke, but it really wasn't much bigger than that) we decided to head out to the tower. (The CN tower is the great big tall tower in the above picture, for those who don't know.) For 30 years, it held the record as the tallest freestanding building in the world - I believe it is now the 3rd tallest, but is still the tallest in the western hemisphere, taller than the Sears Tower and quite a bit taller than the Empire State Building.
We decided to take the subway, for many reasons. One was just to give the kids the experience. Trying to figure out the Toronto subway at rush hour on a Friday night may not have been the smartest idea, but it was fun!
Subway ride!

At the base of the tower, ready for an adventure!

At the observation deck, 1122 feet up, looking out onto Lake Ontario.

Pippy checking out the view from the glass floor!

Careful there Lou! Don't fall!

Don't fall Sis! Lou is there to catch you!

After we were done, we had to snap another pic, this time looking UP at the glass floor.
This is kind of an expensive activity (nearly $100 for the family) but was at least twice as good as that dumb movie, so we figure it was worth it.
After a quick subway ride back, we had dinner in the subway where we could all choose our own thing (A & W for the girls, Chinese for mom and dad!), and back to the hotel for some R & R.
