Ice Festival
When we moved here last summer, one of the first things we heard about was a local Ice Festival, and we've been waiting for it to come! Last Saturday night we checked it out, and it was a lot of fun. A little warmer than they were planning on - some of the sculptures were melting and a few had even crumbled, but there was still a lot to see. On Sunday, it rained, and I'm guessing that about did the rest of the sculptures in! While we were there, we ran into the missionaries who were street contacting. Both D & I were grateful that those days are over!! To wrap up our night of fun, we went out for pie and hot chocolate. Lots of fun! Here were some of our favorites:

How fun! We missed it this year...we forgot until Saturday afternoon, and had too much going on the rest of the day. Glad you had fun. The pie and hot chocolate sounds especially nice!!
Great family time! I'm glad you are seeing and enjoying so much of your new area.
Ray served his mission in Sapporo, Japan, and they have an annual ice festival that is fabulous! It's a huge holiday. The pictures are amazing in the detail and size!
