We couldn't leave New Orleans without once last excursion for the aquarium and beignets. We invited our Louisiana cousins (I love saying that!) along!

At Audubon Aquarium of the Americas, a fabulous place that we will miss!

Gardner cousins hanging out in "the cove"

...and playing on the frog

Petting the nurse shark

Happy as a clam

Riding Mr. Turtle

Too perfect. The white alligator wanted to be in the picture with the girls!

At the Mississippi River exhibit...overlooking...the Mississsippi River!

She had to have me take a picture with "her buddy". She looks for this owl every time, and he's always in the same spot (he's at the top of the rocks above her head, if you can't tell!)

Walking from the aquarium to Cafe Du Monde, saying goodbye to the Crescent City Connection

PATIENTLY waiting for beignets.....

....then digging in!

In front of St. Louis Cathedral, one of the prettiest spots around.

Goodbye New Orleans! We will miss you!

So maybe I missed it... When do you guys take off?
Sad to leave it, but exciting to be going somewhere new and adventurous! Glad to see you in a picture or two!
Good-bye, Gardners. Don't let the streetcar hit you in the **** on the way out :)
Keri, we leave 2 weeks from yesterday, on the 26th.
Ann, odd that you should say that. As we were leaving the city today, my kids said, "But we never rode the streetcars!"
We really should have done that.
What a great farewell tour! This is a wonderful way to visit your favorite places one last time.
I understand your mixed emotions. We will have to take our own farewell tour of Cincy, though we've spent more time in the suburbs than downtown.
