Goodbye Christmas background, Christmas playlist - we are moving on to a New Year!
We had a fun New Year's Eve. Some friends from the ward invited us over for snacks and fireworks. We were planning to just stay for a couple of hours and come home, but we were having too much fun and stayed past midnight! We played a lot of games while the kids messed up the house. It was great.
Good fireworks too! I haven't seen anyone do fireworks like Louisiana does fireworks. Seriously, it was quite amazing to watch them going off all over the place.
On the way home we saw a neighborhood with a ton of fireworks going on. That's when Doug told me that this guy (his dad is in our ward) rents a U-Haul every year and gets $6000 worth of fireworks, and his neighbor does the same, and they set them all off at New Year's over the little lake that is in their neighborhood. So we stopped over there and watched for awhile, it was quite the show.
This morning when we woke up (yes, it was still technically morning) we took a look outside only to find out that our yard was a big mess. The neighbors across the street had a huge party and you could definitely tell which way the wind was blowing because all the firework casings are in our yard! The girls and I went out and cleaned up our yard, and then I swept up the street while my sweet girls cleaned the next door neighbor's yard because he's an older guy who is very heavy and would have a hard time doing it. I was very proud of them!
Now we are just trying to figure out what to do with John and LaRene while they are here. Tomorrow we are spending the day in New Orleans and will probably go to the zoo if it's not raining. Then we'll leave them at the SuperDome to watch the Utes in the Sugar Bowl while we come home and cheer from the couch. Go Utes!

Your New Year's celebration sounds fun. We were with friends' too - playing games, kids messing up the house, etc. Everything but the fireworks. Cincy saves that for Labor Day and July 4. Spectacular!!
Thanks for your comment on my blog. The encouragement and support helps!
