SNOW WAY!

Very early in the storm (8:30 a.m.), when I wasn't sure how long it would last so I took a picture! Chair at 8:30 a.m. 9:30 a.m.: Snow on our Sago Palm

Wow, it is snowing in Southern Louisiana! This is very rare. E's teacher has lived here most of her life and she remembers snow twice - once when she was a teenager and once on Christmas Day 2004.

The kids of course are loving it. It was just starting when they went to school, but they were so excited. Hopefully their teachers will let them go out and enjoy it a bit.

It is too funny watching Lousianans react to this. All of the local stations have pre-empted regular programming to have "snow coverage". Lots of schools and roads are closed. People are either super excited (lots of people out taking pictures), super scared ("I don't know how to drive in this stuff!") or just chilling out like me, sitting on the couch in my pj's drinking hot chocolate. It's fun! For us this is NOTHING, but it is pretty fun since we haven't seen any snow in Louisiana since we moved here.

On the radio this morning, they said, "We are live now on CNN and Fox News, and a criminal indictment isn't even involved!". Lol. That's Louisiana for you!
