Tonight after Doug got home, we decided to practice a couple of our Christmas duets in anticipation of his piano recital/singing night tomorrow night. One of the songs we did was "Rudolph" and I guess this gave the girls the idea to pretend they were reindeer. Morgan threw a jumprope around the others and they started running around.
Doug told them to stop running, but a few minutes later we heard a horrible crash and a scream, and then Elise came running out with a bloody mouth. As she opened her mouth to scream some more, I noticed that a tooth was gone!
As far as we know, this tooth wasn't extremely loose. But apparently, it was loose enough to pop out when her head made contact with the wood floor.
It also jarred her other front tooth and it's kind of crooked now and should come out within the next day or so. She also has a fat lip courtesy of her little reindeer escapade.
We weren't planning on "All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth" being our theme this year, but Elise has made it so.
Oh, one of the funny things - Morgan was really upset about this accident and was crying and saying it was her fault. Ashlyn said, "well, that's good that her tooth fell out because we need the money from the tooth fairy!". Then she went up and gave Elise a hug and said, "Thanks for losing your tooth Elise, now the tooth fairy will bring us money." Then to Morgan and, "Thanks Morgan for tripping Elise, now we'll get some money from the tooth fairy."
Good thing that tooth fairy has an unlimited supply of money! (unfortunately, the tooth fairy rarely carries cash and only gets 1$ bills when there is a tooth loose. Um, oops! Didn't know this was coming today - on a Sunday nonetheless. So the tooth fairy might be bringing loose change this time!)
