Mammoth Cave

I forget that pictures always post in backwards chronological order, but I'm not going to chage it because I'm typing with one hand (sleeping kid in my other one!) I didn't post any other cave photos...but it was really neat. We did the New Entrance Tour.

Got to explain the hair today. We forgot to pack a brush! We did have Doug's but it's not very good. We did finally buy one at Target, so tomorrow's pictures should be better!

This is another place we'll have to go back to. We only did one tour, the New Entrance Tour, which is just a tiny portion of the cave that you can tour. It was a good one to pick though, we got to see a lot of neat things. The first part of the tour was just descending into the cave (I think they said 280 feet down, by stairs). There were a couple of large rooms, and then we walked back up to the surface, passing the Frozen Niagara and Crystal Lake on the way (very pretty), also lots of other formations in this part of the cave.

When we got back from the tour, we had ice cream and then kept making our way north....
