New Domain?

We are not under contract yet, but did accept their counter-offer, so it looks like this will most likely be our new home! Feel free to share decorating/remodeling ideas!
This is a cool little study/den that is part of the new addition, in between the formal dining room and the new master. The fireplace is two-way, into the bedroom.

Lose the floral and this is a nice room.

New master bath (dual sinks again! Yay!). New laundry room is on the far end (where the mirror is) and the master closet is behind the laundry room, accessible through the bedroom.

Formal living and dining areas. I don't know why I didn't think to get a picture of the foyer. It's a pretty two-story foyer, that needs a new chandelier but is otherwise really pretty.

Upstairs (old) master. The girls will have to fight over who gets their own bathroom!

Cool retro bathroom. We're going to replace the vanity but everything else will stay. I personally think it's kind of cute. We're thinking white cabinets with a black vanity top. I didn't take a pic of the half bath downstairs. It has lovely floral wallpaper that we cannot wait to tear down!

Family room. The floors are most likely original and need some buffing, but otherwise they are in great shape. I'm not a fan of the mantle, we'll see if we can put up a different one. I didn't get a picture of it, but there is a doorway just to the right of the fireplace that goes into a "Florida room". It's an add-on, kind of like a sun room, except it's heated! So we can use it year-round, and we are going to make it into a playroom.

Our big project. They refaced the cabinets, but the cabinets themselves aren't that wonderful. The countertop (an ugly purplish color) is not even affixed. That's okay, because we're going to tear it all out anyway. I don't like the way the room is cut off by this section (especially the cabinets that hang down from the ceiling, which you can't really see in the picture too well). We're going to take out this section and build along the other wall instead (where that lovely picture is, beyond the table), and put an island in, towards the center of this area across from the range. New appliances and voila! A new kitchen! This whole thing will pretty much change, which will open it up to the family room much better, and still leave room for an eat-in kitchen here.

This is the back of the house, standing at the trees at the back of the lot. You can see there are quite a few trees that line the property borders, and a nice long section of healthy grass. It would be really great to put a big wrap-around deck on the whole back section between the original home and the add on.

Looking from the house to the back of the lot. There is actually a pretty busy street back there beyond the trees and fence, but the trees keep it really private.

This is from the front, obviously. The siding has either been replaced or at least very well maintained, because it's in great shape. The trim is recently painted too. However, that awful front door needs to go. That's one of the first things we'll change.

So there you have it. A fixer-upper to some extent, but definitely livable while changes are made.
